Biography
Lama represents clients in the financial services industry. Lama’s primary focus for her fintech clients is consumer arbitrations and EFTA compliance. Currently, Lama works on a national consumer dispute docket for one of the largest digital banks on the country. Her passion is client service. With every dispute she handles, Lama works to resolve the dispute on the most favorable terms for clients while at the same time guiding her clients towards dispute-proofing their practices. The firm often calls upon Lama to research cutting edge legal issues for the firm’s fintech clients. In addition, Lama works closely with the firm’s legal assistants to make sure every detail of every dispute is tracked and organized, so that our clients can make evidence-based decisions and can easily see both the forest and the trees.
A rare Austin native, Lama was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University and specialized in the study of cultural and archaeological anthropology. Her research resulted in the receipt of a second-place award at the annual Society for Applied Anthropology conference among hundreds of undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate applicants.
Lama earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. She was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) team where she participated in two national competitions and placed as a quarterfinalist in one. Lama is fluent in Arabic. During her free time, Lama loves to travel, be outdoors, and attend music festivals and concerts. Lama is also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, otherwise known to her as the greatest football team of all time.
